A Letter from the President
Dear
Village Residents:
As President of the Village of Olympia Fields, it is my pleasure to provide you with our Resident Handbook. Many residents who are part of our Community Relations Commission participated in preparing the Handbook, and we are grateful for their hard work and dedication to the Village. It is our hope that the staff at the Village Hall and the material provided with this letter will be of assistance to you.
We take great pride in our homes and neighborhoods. That is why the Village encourages and maintains a high quality property maintenance program. In assuring these standards are met and maintained, we promote the stability of our property values. Our Community Service Officer regularly patrols the Village making sure homes and yards are properly maintained. Please refer to the Handbook’s Property Maintenance Section or call the Village Hall if you have any questions about maintaining the quality of our Village.
Participating in local government develops a sense of ownership and empowers you as a Village resident. I encourage you to attend our Board meetings to see what and how decisions are made that affect our residents and businesses. These meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall. There also are many Village Committees that permit residents to actively shape the Village’s policies.
Lastly, there are several neighborhood associations that are part of the fabric of our community. I urge you to contact your homeowners’ association and the Enhancement Organization of Olympia Fields. These organizations are a valuable resource in making life in our Village more enjoyable.
Please be sure to look through your Resident Handbook. The Handbook includes information about local schools, community organizations, and services you may need. Also, watch Channel 4 on cable TV for Village news. Our Village website is www.olympia-fields.com. A listing of Village businesses is available at the Village Hall.
