Franciscan Health Olympia Fields hosting free four-week teen Healthcare Careers Camp

Franciscan Health Olympia Fields is accepting applications through June 9 for the free, inaugural Healthcare Careers Camp for students interested in the medical field.
Applicants must be between the ages of 16-18, have a GPA or 2.8 of higher, have successfully completed at least two semesters of both math and science and be active in at least one after-school activity or part-time job. The activity need not be school related.
Attendees will participate in job shadowing, career presentations, networking, field trips, service projects and college visits and will earn basic health-related certifications. Class materials and scrubs/t-shirts are included.
Upon successful completion of the camp and compliance with the attendance policy, students will receive healthcare certificates, professional references and a stipend. The program is supported by the Franciscan Health Foundation’s Community Health and Wellness Fund.
The camp will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday July 10 through Aug. 4 at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, 20201 Crawford Ave.
Applications are due June 9 and require a short essay and one letter of recommendation from an adult who knows the character of the applicant. Space is limited to 20 participants who must pass a screening process.
