Non-Emergency Services
In an effort to protect the public and our employees from inadvertent exposure to COVID-19, Village Hall and the Public Works Building will continue to be closed to the public until April 30th, in accordance with the Governors Executive Order 2020-18. We remind residents that all Village departments remain available via telephone or email and ask for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to the Center for Disease Control’s guidelines on social distancing.
We will continue to perform essential functions, including police protection and water/sewer services while practicing social distancing measures. Other non-essential functions will operate on a modified basis as outlined below. Residents are encouraged to continue calling 708-503-8000 for assistance.
Public Works Department
At this time the Public Works Department is monitoring the water and sewer systems on a daily basis. The department is taking all calls and concerns from the public and responding accordingly based on need. All emergency situations will be addressed as they arise.
Finance Department
In an effort to keep our residents safe, the Village of Olympia Fields is taking action to help its residents by imposing a moratorium on service disconnections and waiving new late payment charges through June 1, 2020.
While Village Hall is closed, we continue to accept Water Bill payments by:
- Check payments by mail
- Check payments by lockbox outside of Village Hall
- Online through the Village website
- Bill pay initiated through your bank
Building Department
The Building Department will continue to issue building permits for emergency work only at this time. We are actively performing plan reviews that have been submitted electronically, and we will schedule exterior inspections and inspections on properties that are not occupied and/or vacant.
