The meeting was called to order by A. Burke at 6:05 p.m.
Members present: A. Burke, S. Gowen, B. Lowry, E. Owens and Trustee D. Watkins
The November 2020 minutes were approved and corrected. There was no update provided by Trustee Watkins.
Unfinished Business
- The following were the holiday award winners: 1st place – 3400 Cumberland/The Trails, 2nd place – 20525 Hellenic/Original Village and 3rd place – 3013 Hermes/Olympia Club
- BC HOA “grant” program form: The form has been reviewed by the committee and uploaded to the website. The announcement regarding the program is in the next village newsletter. We need to put a review/approval process in place for our committee which also involves participation from Public Works department. The committee will work on ideas for a time-line and smooth process which will be approved at the March meeting. It was suggested we have an orientation meeting for HOA presidents and their beautification chairs if they have them. Trustee Watkins suggested we consider having a landscape master plan for the village.
- BC 2021 budget update – Information has been provided to Jim Landini and Betty Zegras for upcoming March budget meetings.
New Business
- Spring clean up – Susan G. provided information from the Southland Green Committee regarding this year’s spring clean up program. It will be the entire month of April to allow for flexibility for the different municipalities and programs in their neighborhoods. We will incorporate Arbor Day and Earth Day into our plans. HOA presidents will receive information regarding Spring Clean Up 2021 via USPS mail and email. Additionally, Susan G. will call each president to encourage participation. The clean up plans will also be discussed at the grant orientation meeting we hope to hold in late March. We want to be sure to take photos of all activities. We will again do public areas on Kedzie, Lincoln Highway and the entrance to the O.F. train station. We will request grabbers, bags, gloves, vests and trash pickup from Jim Landini and public works.
