[ARCHIVED] Quick Run Shell Station Coming Soon to Olympia Fields

Ground breaking

At long last, the corner of Lincoln Highway and Crawford Avenue will be a hub of commercial activity once again. Developer Paramvir Singh has purchased the property and broken ground on the $1.7–$2 million renovation and build out of the existing structure on the site. Formerly occupied by First Muffler & Brakes, the property at 3780 Lincoln Highway has been a vacant eyesore for over four years.

The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Quick Run Shell Station took place on June 29, 2022. Mr. Singh and his family were joined by Village President Sterling Burke; Village Trustees Sandra Finley, Kelvin Oliver, and William Pennington; and Economic Development Commission Co-Chairs Trinette Britt-Johnson and Michael Lewis. Also in attendance were Economic Development Commissioners George Chandler and Phillip Paige; Building Commissioner John McDonnell; and Beautification Committee Chair Arlene Burke.

Ribbon CuttingSince the groundbreaking, the site has been abuzz with construction activity. Singh estimates that, once it is up and running, the Quick Run will provide 14–18 jobs, not to mention the 70–80 construction jobs currently available during the build out and renovation phase.

The Quick Run station will be a 3,000 square foot premium, open-plan facility with four gas pumps and a store offering approximately 3,500–4,000 retail items, including a variety of to-go food and snack options. The store also will sell household items, gourmet wine and spirits, and groceries, such as bread, milk, and eggs—products not typically carried by gas station food marts. The facility’s upscale, modern design mirrors that of the developer’s stores in Lemont and Crest Hill, Illinois, and St. John and Crown Point, Indiana. Singh has applied for liquor and gaming licenses for the Olympia Fields facility, as well.

As Singh noted in his initial presentation to the Village of Olympia Fields Board of Trustees in August 2020, the site at 3780 Lincoln Highway is “a great opportunity for retail use, due to the high traffic” in the area. The Village’s Economic Development Committee anticipates that the Quick Run will garner an annual revenue of approximately $3.4 million and will function as a gateway to Olympia Fields at the northeast corner of Route 30 and Crawford Avenue.
